The Nikon D4S uses the new EXPEED 4 processing engine and standard ISO sensitivity ranges from ISO 100 to 25600 and this range can be extended to ISO 50 – 409,600 for capturing photos in extreme lighting situations.

Sports and wildlife photographers will be pleased with the Nikon D4S‘s impressive burst rate of 11fps with full autofocus and auto exposure capabilities. A new Group Area AF mode is designed to improve autofocus performance. With five AF points, Group AF mode is intended to reduce background focusing by tracking and focusing accurately on small, distant, and fast-moving objects against a busy background.

Video has gotten several improvements as well with a new 1080/60p option, in addition to 1080/30p or 24p, plus various additional NTSC and PAL frame rates and resolutions. Video clips can be recorded in H.264 / MPEG-4 AVC format for up to 29:59 minutes each.
