Canon announced the new Canon Rebel T5 on Tuesday, an entry level DSLR equipped with an 18 megapixel APS-C sized CMOS sensor.
The Canon EOS Rebel T5 Digital SLR Camera bundled with an EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II lens is scheduled to be available in March for an estimated retail price of $549.99.
Geared towards newcomers to DSLR photography, the T5 boasts a nine point AF system, 3 inch LCD screen, Full-HD video capture, and the capability of shooting up to 3 frames per second. While the Canon T5 lacks the articulated LCD screen of the Canon T5i, this is a feature that most beginning photographers won’t miss too much. With an 18 megapixel sensor and DIGIC 4 Image Processor, the Canon T5 has an ISO range of 100-6400 and can be expanded to 12,800 for shooting in very low lighting conditions.
Easy to use controls, a small size, and a reasonably affordable price point make the Canon T5 an attractive camera for new DSLR photographers to continue. Available in March, the T5 is currently available for pre-order.
